The rules and guidelines for using StellarLog.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StellarLog web application at app.stellarlog.space and the marketing site at stellarlog.space (collectively, the "Service"), operated by StellarLog ("we", "our", "us").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
StellarLog is a web-based astrophotography session logger. It allows you to manage deep sky targets, log imaging sessions, track equipment, and monitor integration progress. The Service is provided as a subscription-based product with a free trial period.
To use StellarLog, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You agree to:
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial. When the trial expires, access to the app is restricted until you subscribe. All data created during the trial is preserved and will be available when you subscribe.
StellarLog offers subscription plans as listed on our Pricing page. Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis according to your selected billing cycle (monthly or yearly).
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until that date.
We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you have been charged in error or are unsatisfied with the Service, please contact us within 14 days of the charge.
You agree to use StellarLog only for its intended purpose, which is logging and managing astrophotography data. You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into StellarLog, including targets, sessions, equipment profiles, and notes. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when your data is deleted.
You may export your data at any time from Settings → Data & Storage, regardless of subscription status.
You can delete individual targets, sessions, and equipment from within the app. To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us. Deletion will be completed within 30 days.
StellarLog integrates with third-party services to provide certain features. Your use of these features is also subject to the respective provider's terms:
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.
The StellarLog name, logo, user interface design, source code, and documentation are the intellectual property of StellarLog and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our written permission.
We strive to keep StellarLog available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For significant changes that affect your use, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
StellarLog is a logging and planning tool. It is not a substitute for proper observing safety practices or professional astronomical data sources.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StellarLog and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to the Service or other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of serious violations.
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. You may request a data export before termination. If your account is terminated for a Terms violation, we are not obligated to provide a refund.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice within the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
