StellarLog ("we", "our", "us") operates the web application located at app.stellarlog.space and the marketing site at stellarlog.space (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Authentication is handled in accordance with industry standards, and your password is never stored in plaintext.
You may optionally provide a display name, observing location (latitude, longitude), and Bortle class. This information is used to power features like weather auto-fill and imaging forecasts.

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or banking details. Stripe may collect information necessary to process your payment in accordance with their own Privacy Policy .
To improve performance, the app caches certain data in your browser's local storage, including SIMBAD lookup results (cached for 90 days), weather data from Open-Meteo (cached for 30 minutes), and DSS preview images. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from Settings.
We may collect basic analytics data such as page views, feature usage patterns, and error reports to help us improve the Service. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising networks.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can export all of your data at any time from Settings → Data & Storage, regardless of your subscription status. Your data belongs to you.
If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained indefinitely so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe. If you wish to have your data permanently deleted, contact us at our contact page and we will remove all records associated with your account within 30 days.
StellarLog uses essential cookies only, for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
The app also uses your browser's local storage to cache SIMBAD lookups, weather data, and DSS images. You can clear this cache at any time from Settings → Data & Storage.
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
StellarLog is operated from Australia. If you access the Service from outside Australia, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States (Stripe) and Australia. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
